WIRES is an Australian non-profit organization which rehabilitates and releases wildlife. Volunteers are trained in wildlife husbandry. Some volunteers only pick up injured animals from members of the public and then deliver them to caretakers, while others actually take care of the animals. Animals which can't be released or which are feral are dealt with accordingly.

Species[]

Australian native wildlife. Volunteers receive basic training, which enables them to collect animals and take care of easy animals, such as native birds and lizards. More difficult animals, like macropods, bats, snakes and raptors require further training, which is also provided by WIRES.

Location[]

NSW, Australia. Members take care of animals in their own homes.
